The guts of my QCPro 3000, now with Peltier cooling, long exposure and amp-off mods.
Note that both USB and serial port connections are run out through the serial connector. The cable that connects it to my laptop splits the
signals back into the USB and serial cables
With the use of a PVC pipe fitting and a bayonet mount from a
discarded Canon camera I can now mount my camera lenses directly. A near IR filter sits in behind the PVC fitting and keeps the enclosure (reasonably) airtight when cooling.
You can see the camera fully assembled with an insulating jacket made from an old water heater insulating blanket.
The heatsink and fan mounted on the peltier cooler. Cooling is accomplished by cooling the entire enclosure, since cooling just the CCD is difficult in a QCPro3000.
Purchased this plastic toolkit at the local hardware store. With the lid design its perfect for holding all my accessories and was only $20 Canadian.
